The standard explanation offered by Africans opposed to gay rights is that homosexuality is alien to their culture and was introduced to Africa by European colonialists. A good deal of African-American homophobia relies on the same justification. But late 19th-century records on Africa and African oral history show that homosexual practices existed in pre-colonial Africa. One case in point are the Azande people in the north-east of modern-day Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), where it was acceptable for kings, princes and soldiers to take young male lovers.
Further evidence for the existence of homosexuality is that pre-colonial African ethnic groups ascribed tribal classifications to gay people. While some of these categorisations had negative associations, many had neutral connotations. Certain tribes in pre-colonial Burkina Faso and South Africa regarded lesbians as astrologers and traditional healers. A number of tribal groups in Cameroon and Gabon believed homosexuality had a medicinal effect. In pre-colonial Benin, homosexuality was viewed as a boyhood phase that males passed through and eventually grew out of.

Diane Schneider represented the National Education Association (NEA), the largest teachers union in the US and an organization which the Michigan Education Association (MEA) is a part of, at a recent United Nations Commission on the Status of Women meeting. She did not represent herself or her own views- she spoke for the NEA, and since she has not been promptly fired or otherwise publicly reprimanded, the NEA must then support and agree with her views. This means that when she speaks, she is speaking for most of the teachers in our nation. Via memeorandum, I read that she said:

“Oral sex, masturbation, and orgasms need to be taught in education,” Diane Schneider told the audience at a panel on combating homophobia and transphobia. Schneider, representing the National Education Association (NEA), the largest teachers union in the US, advocated for more “inclusive” sex education in US schools, with curricula based on liberal hetero and homosexual expression. She claimed that the idea of sex education remains an oxymoron if it is abstinence-based, or if students are still able to opt-out.

Comprehensive sex education is “the only way to combat heterosexism and gender conformity,” Schneider proclaimed, “and we must make these issues a part of every middle and high-school student’s agenda.” “Gender identity expression and sexual orientation are a spectrum,” she explained, and said that those opposed to homosexuality “are stuck in a binary box that religion and family create.”

To sum up, students and parents should have no choice in the matter, religion and family are outdated old ideas that need to be dropped, and every student should learn their science and math and social studies through the lens of liberal and homosexual expression.

Furthermore, as a panelist speaking for the NEA, she further advocated for increasing sexualization of youth, a more liberal approach to sex, approval of masturbation, and exposure to children of graphic content in their youngest years. This panel will shape policies of the United Nations, which receives a large portion of its funding on the backs of US taxpayers.

Of course she needs to be fired, the NEA needs to reevaluate its hiring practices, the MEA needs to reevaluate its association with the NEA, the United States ambassador to the UN needs to issue a statement disagreeing with this agenda, and the US needs to seriously consider whether the UN is appropriately spending US taxpayer money. Those are all givens. But we- you and I- are also going to have to start devoting more time to fighting communism, since it appears that they actually are winning the Cold War (although long after their economic, social, and military system has collapsed because of communism and its perverted ideology).

17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers' associations. Put the party line in textbooks.

25. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV.

26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as "normal, natural, healthy."

40. Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce.

If only Africans would recognize organized religion’s incessant battle to crush their beliefs to the benefit of a religious culture that was carefully put together in Rome, the same culture that politically promoted sexual and racial intolerance while making Africans believe that the homosexuality was imported whilst Christianity is African. If only we had the slightest clue of the ongoing process of the redefinition of our hard earned civilization and freedom. Al-quaeda is not the only threat to our future freedom.

Q. How did the “Internalist School” came about?
Ayittey: It evolved rather slowly in the 1970s. When Africa gained its independence in the 1960s, the euphoria that gripped the continent was infectious. “Free at last!” was the chant that resonated across Africa. African nationalist leaders who won independence for their respective countries were hailed as heroes and deified. Currencies bore their portraits. Statues and monuments were built and named after them. It was sacrilegious to criticize them. They outlawed opposition parties, declared their countries to be one-party states and themselves “presidents for life.” Their intolerance of dissent, lack of democratic freedom and creeping despotism sowed the seeds of internalist revolt.
Very soon in the late 1960s, the euphoria over independence and the honeymoon wore off. It became increasingly clear that Africa had traded one set of masters (white colonialists) for another (black neo-colonialists.) The oppression and exploitation of the African continued unabated. Soldiers stepped in a spate of coups in the 1970s but the soldiers were themselves another batch of “crocodile liberators,” far worse than the despots they replaced. Africa’s post colonial story is one truculent tale of one betrayal after another. This has little to do with colonialism but leadership failure.

Most teachers only teach students one side of issues, and most teachers are liberal, so the simple fact is that most of your students will only ever learn in school the liberal view on important issues like global warming, healthcare, teacher pay, the role of government, wars (like Iraq or Vietnam), multiculturalism, homosexuality, or thousands of other issues that are important in today's society. If you have a child going through school, either first grade or college, they are going to be forced to read books, watch movies, and listen to lectures that by sheer volume of information and time will wear down your student's resistance to liberal views and weaken their innate human yearning for freedom and liberty.

So, what do you do about it? Combating each issue one at a time is probably not the best solution. There are books, movies, and media out there for students that could help educate them on conservative views, and by all means encourage your child to explore these and bring balance to their education. But again, the sheer volume of liberalism that is going to be thrown at them through all of their education is going to mean that your child will have to read a heck of a lot to achieve some sort of balance in their education.

And don't look to conservative teachers like me to provide balance. My classroom is balanced, which means I provide both liberal and conservative views, and challenge students to think and arrive at their own conclusions. I play devils-advocate and try hard to achieve a balance in my classroom, and so do many other conservative teachers. They are not going to balance with their balanced classrooms all the unbalanced liberal teachers filling your children's heads.

Liberal teachers believe in their hearts that children already know the conservative arguments, they feel that the conservative view is being presented at home, that parents are teaching their children that global warming is not man-made, that gun-ownership is a protected right, that it is okay to be heterosexual, that religion is a good thing and worshipping God is okay, that sometimes you do need to fight back against bad guys, etc. Liberal teachers expect you to be spending all your time with your child teaching these views, showing them movies, talking to them, reading to them, etc. And so they seek to bring 'balance' to the student's home life by only presenting progressive liberal views of the world.

But you're not spending all your time indoctrinating your children, are you? And to be perfectly honest, you are not as good at indoctrination as a teacher is- we get Master degrees in indoctrination or teaching or something. And we get resources that you might not get- video's like An Inconvenient Truth, books like Johnny Has Two Daddy's, or speakers like the guy who said it was okay to have sex before marriage.

So, what do you do? My advice to parents on how to build better children, the kind that can withstand all of the liberal indoctrination that is thrown at them and grow up to be strong healthy happy people is to always ask questions. Get your kids thinking. If they make a statement or reflect back some liberal teacher's belief, question it. These kids want to question authority, and they are more likely to question you before they question their teachers, so don't preach at them- instead, ask them how, why, what, or when?

When your children come home and tell you that sprawl is bad, ask them what sprawl is, why it is bad, what makes it bad, if their house in suburbs with the big lawn is sprawl, etc. If your child comes home and says that he doesn't think he wants to go to church any more, ask him what he thinks God thinks about that, where does he think he is going to get his morals and views from now, etc. If your child says that you need to not support the troops because our soldiers are killing innocent people around the world, ask them what makes a person bad and what makes a person good and which ones our troops are, ask them questions.

Teach your children to think critically. Teach them to question authority. Teach them to boldly believe and boldly trust in themselves. And encourage your students to seek information from everywhere and get all sides of the story before making judgements. And they will be better people because of this.
