‘African creativity is no more’

Commenting on the dearth of creative thinking in Africa Taban Lo Liyong stated "...In West Africa, the first age of African creativity also went away. We were brave in fighting against colonialism. You could be as brave as you wanted. But after independence, you would know that the African president was there. African writers had to find a new way of dealing with African issues. We need a new literary movement of extra-decolonisation of Africa from African dictators.Let’s produce that ideology first and it will have its activists.
