Educating the Public on Medicare- Paul Ryan's Great Mission

As an educator, I try to remove ignorance, bad information, lies, myths, questions, and failings in logic and replace them with information, logic, connections, data, and processes to acquire more of the same. This translates well into politics and political thought, since much of the discourse, mainly from Democrats and liberals but also from Republicans and conservatives too, is based on ignorance, lies, and failings in logic. It is my desire to shoot torpedo's of truth at this discourse and educate the electorate so it can make better choices- that is why I have this blog and do radio interviews and am working on a book.

Sometimes though I feel like I am alone in this mission- that others are merely partisan actors, others are all about getting the other guy, and that others are only after power, whether they be Republican or Democrat. So I always get excited when I find someone else out there who really is trying to educate people- educate them about themselves and their rights and what it means to be an American- that our nation was founded on certain principles, chiefly that no one is a king over us, that we are all equal, we all have the right to live and to live in freedom and to earn and keep the fruits of our labor, and that government's purpose is to protect these exceptional principles.

I have found an ally in this educational effort in Congressman Paul Ryan, who has excited me both with his efforts to make the American Dream more accessible to everyone, but also for his attempts to do so through education.

We all know that the Medicare system is headed to collapse, and that if nothing is done about it that this collapse will be very difficult for many seniors to adjust to. Republicans, for better or worse, are trying to save the Medicare program in something like its present form. Congressman Paul Ryan explains all this in the following excellent video that was recently released- it is 5 minutes long and well worth your time to watch it if you haven't already:
