Talk about a great grant! Tony is giving time aboard his boat to a "subgenius" in return for dinner with his family as a grant. I LOVE this idea. What if more of us did this! Wow! Thinking I could talk to Dad about our lodge at the shed and offer a week of quiet time away to a subgenius of my own.

Kids Teaching Kids - The Vision
With recent coverage in the Huffington post, this platform where kids teach kids is supposedly taking off - let me suggest they buy a proper domain name first instead of a weebly url, but besides that - this echoes what the students "invented" in past conferences - whether it was "Aha" (Amateurs Teaching Adults) or programs where kids would help each other - they want to do it and are already helping each other on Facebook through IM as it is.

Marshall K is using Needlebase to build some pretty fascinating Twitter lists. This was a group of list makers who love RWWGEo the most.
Owl.ly reports in Hootsuite is trying to do something similar although it doesn't have near the detail. -
A website that marshall K uses to aggregate and compile information. I want to understand how he uses it. Here are many of the public database this service aggregates. This is delving more deeply into data and something that our students have to get to. Past just the surface of "a verbatim Google search" into making meaning of the data.
It looks like this is an important tool for researchers - particularly those researching things pertaining to technology and the ecosystems that are emerging in so many places.
