Obama Punishes Honduras

Via the BBC comes word that Democratic President Barack Obama has ordered his executive officials to cut off all non-humanitarian aid to this poor nation, and is sending out signals that it may not officially recognize the result from Honduras's upcoming presidential election. In case you don't remember, recently Honduras democratically and lawfully removed its President, who was attempting to illegally remain in power and was actively fermenting a revolt that would have given him near-dictatorial power, much like his friend Hugo Chavez. Honduras's Supreme Court and Congress declined to cooperate, removed him, replaced him, and sent him on his way. They supported constitutional government. They were the good guys. I've written an earlier post on this (Obama on Honduras: More Evidence of a Bad President) that has a great summary link for the situation in Honduras.

But Obama's foreign policy punishes the good guys and attacks our friends in an attempt to curry favor with our enemies and bad guys around the world. Obama's foreign policy is to punish a nation that is attempting to be more democratic and follow the law, and reward nations like Cuba and Venezuela that support dictatorships and do not support the rule of law. As I wrote earlier-

I've hammered Obama about his domestic policy, where it appears as if he is trying to destroy the United States for no reason at all. Let's not forget Obama's foreign policy though, where he is attempting to hurt our best friends (British, Israel, Georgia) while attempting to give everything to our worst enemies. Not to make this oversimplify or black and white, but Obama appears to be helping the bad guys. That's why he is a bad President.
Much like citizens do at the townhall and tea party rally's, if you support Honduras, you should take action. Powerlineblog has provided some important information to do this. We can urge the State Department not designate the removal of the former Honduran president from office as a military coup- contact information for the US State Department is here. We can also support express support for the constitutional government of Honduras by contacting the Embassy of Honduras in the United States. Its address is 3007 Tilden St. NW, #4M, Washington, DC 20008-3008. You can contact it at: (202) 966-7702 (telephone), (202) 966-9751 (fax), and embajadadehondurasdc@yahoo.com (email).
