A Superintendent's Vision for Improving Education

Today at our staff meeting, our superintendent discussed his vision for the future of our school, the challenges that we face as teachers, and mapped out the route to better education for our students. You'll be happy to know that there is not a thing that any of teachers or principles needs to change to make the education vastly better at our school.

Nope, according to our superintendent, teachers can continue with their methods and curriculum without analysis or change, and principles and counselors can go on with their programs without reflection or self-criticism, because what will improve education is more government led by Democrats and Barack Obama.

You see, according to our superintendent, whose speech I am going to roughly outline here, the problems faced in education are the fact that not every district is funded equally and that not enough money is sent to education by the state. As a nation, under the leadership of Bush and the Republicans, we've just endured 8 years of depression where education funding was heavily slashed and teachers were laid off in droves, and our country lost prestige and standing in the world as we fought an immoral war.

According to our superintendent, the election of Obama, and our dramatic increase in hired lobbyists, will lead the way back to change and hope. As we lobby for more money, as we lobby for more hope and change and togetherness, education will improve, and will once again be great like it was under Clinton and Carter. Yes, the years of people voting Republican is at an end, and now they realize that voting Republican isn't a choice, and the only choice to make is Democrat, and that will lead education back to the promise land.

This is the type of drivel that teachers have to listen to coming from our highly paid superintendents. Is it any wonder that with this kind of leadership education doesn't improve?
