Ageism

From wikipedia: Ageism is stereotyping and prejudice against individuals because of their age. It describes discrimination against seniors and patterned on sexism and racism. This discrimination against seniors (ageism) is usually seen as a combination of three connected elements. These are: prejudicial attitudes towards older people, discriminatory practices against older people, and institutional practices and policies that perpetuate stereotypes about older people. So, if you refused to vote for someone because they were old and told jokes about old people that perpetuated stereotypes about old people, you could be said to be practicing ageism. Huh. Democrats do this all the time against John McCain. They bring up his age all the time. That's discrimination. That would be similar to bringing up race about Obama (which I don't do, because it doesn't matter), or saying you won't vote for Obama because of his race (half-African-American), or telling jokes about Obama that connect him to stereotypes- all low and dirty stuff. But, I don't see the Republicans by-and-large engaging in this sort of discriminatory practices- I see the Democrats doing it. That disgusts me.
