This may be a surprise to you, but to become a teacher, you need 30 credits in a major, 20 credits in a minor, and 60 credits in "teacher preparation" or "education." What exactly do teachers spend the majority of their time, money, and energy learning? From MSU website- "Reflections on Teaching" (mush), "Human Diversity" (liberal mush), "Learners and Learning" (more liberal mush), "Teaching Diverse Learners" (even more liberal mush), and "Crafting Teaching Practices."
Out of all of those, the only class that actually helps you in teaching could be the last (it isn't though- it's just more mush). Because of this background, teachers sadly have no training or knowledge of a major part of teaching- management.
I would contend that teachers have little to no skill and knowledge of how to manage a class of students. By manage I mean acting like a manager at any company, whether a division manager at Ford or a manager at Subway, teachers would have no clue on how to manage, control, and motivate their students. This is important because in reality, teachers are managers of their classrooms, and need to have the same skills as those of a business manager. But by and large, they do not have these skills.
Teachers, from my observation and experience, waste large amounts of time in order to manage their classrooms- they provide poor directions that take vastly longer to explain than they should and usually are not followed, they spend large amounts of time answering questions on policies or procedures of the room and that are not even observed, and have little to no skill in focusing and directing the energies of their charges, instead telling them over and over again to sit down and be quiet.
In some classes, maybe over half of the time and energy that students spend with a teacher is spent on these inefficient management practices- instead of learning anything, the students spend the whole day figuring on what and how they are supposed to do an activity, instead of actually doing the activity and learning from it. This is not a correct allotment of resources in the classroom.
And it’s not surprising that teachers have these problems. Liberal leftists like to spend more time telling others what to do, instead of actually doing anything. They design vast government programs that cost large amounts of money and yet do nothing. They spend hours talking and debating about stuff that does not truly matter. And as teachers, these liberals spend most of the time in the classroom explaining directions instead of teaching.
