Is US Funding Mosque Building Around the World?

Do you want to take your hard-earned money and use it to build mosques around the world? Do you care if the federal government is actively supporting mosque building? Do you think that defending 'separation of church and state' on one hand while actively building mosques on the other hand is hypocritical? Sadly, with Democrats in charge of our government, it doesn't matter what you want or care about or think- under Obama, you could be working every day so that you can send a part of your salary to Washington so that he Democrats can use that money to build mosques around the world. According to an op-ed by Fareed Zakaria in Newsweek:

Since (Obama's election), Washington has funded mosques, schools, institutes, and community centers that are trying to modernize Islam around the world. We should be encouraging groups like the one behind this project, not demonizing them. Were this mosque being built in a foreign city, chances are that the U.S. government would be funding it (already).

That right- according to a Washington insider, someone familiar with our government's policies and BFF with the administration that is ruling us right now, your hard work is going to build mosques for Muslims around the world.

This policy will probably be blamed on Bush, because he had in place a policy of seeking out and supporting moderate Islam by helping to fund schools, institutes, and community centers that are encouraged more moderate forms of Islam. This is probably a fool's errand and a lot of that money that was going to encourage more moderate forms of Islam probably found its way to extremist terrorist Muslim groups, but it's an understandable national security policy experiment to try to encourage moderate forms of Islam so that we don't have to fight as many terror groups. But what Bush didn't do (or shouldn't have done) is use taxpayer money to build mosques, because that would (and is) wrong and probably unconstitutional.

And yet, under Obama, according to this Newsweek journalist (and during the Bush years, the word of a Newsweek journalist was good enough for all liberals and Democrats), your taxpayer money is building religious buildings for Muslims around the world. If this is true, and I caution you that this needs to be looked into (although the Obama administration is probably the least transparent and most closed of any in our history), then this policy is very wrong and anyone associated with it (both President and Congress) need to be thrown out of office for supporting it.
