Sarah Palin was never a member of the Alaska Independence Party. The New York Times admitted that as usual, it accidentally published Democrat talking points and unfounded rumors, rather than real research. This is not to say they were totally wrong- Palin reportedly did attend a meeting or two of the AIP, and her husband was a member of this party for a while.

So, that should put to rest all the stuff going on at the fever swamp of the left. Now, one question that occurs to me is which is worse- going to a couple meetings for a third party or attending a church for many years that preached America was the devil? Yeah, Palin's husband belonged to this party- where are Obama's relatives? His mom? Father? Brother? Have any of them ever belonged to any party that might have in its platform somewhere something controversial? Maybe- I wonder who does research on these types of things- the media?
