Granholm Gone?

Michigan continues to struggle under Democrat leadership. The latest numbers are striking- under high regulation, anti-growth, high-tax, anti-business leadership in Lansing, Michigan's third-quarter unemployment rate rose to 8.6 percent (from 7.9 percent in the previous quarter). And it is not just 'the auto companies'- under Democratic leadership, the rest of the state is part of this- the Ann Arbor area saw its unemployed ranks rise by 26.9 percent, the Grand Rapids area saw its unemployed count rise by 26.1 percent, while the Holland area saw a rise of 28 percent. Thanks to Crains Business Detroit for the data.

The good thing is that with an Obama victory, Michigan might be sending its leadership to Lansing. Also from Crains comes this little piece of information- recently a resolution was introduced in the state House that would set up a new process for installing a lieutenant governor in Michigan- which would need to happen if Granholm left and Cherry took her place. The bills sponsor says that this isn't the reason for the bill- but, where there is smoke there is usually fire, and soon Granholm might be lighting the rest of the country on fire as she did Michigan.
